2021 European Tour: DS Automobiles Italian Open September 2, 2021 by Marc Jerbs

On Thursday, the European Tours head to Italy for the DS Automobile Italian Open.

The redesigned Marco Simone Golf and Country Club will host the 4-day tournament.

The course has undergone major changes as it prepares to host the 2023 Ryder Cup.

Defending Italian Open champion Ross McGowan will play in the tournament.

He won it last season but it was held in Chervo Golf Club.

It was his 2nd European Tour title and finished it in style by sealing a one-stroke victory of Nicolas Colsaerts and Laurie Canter.

A star-studded field is expected to participate in the tournament led by 2018 Open champion Francesco Molinari, 11-time European Tour winner Henrik Stenson and 2019 Italian Open winner Bernd Wiesberger.

The sportsbook handicappers have installed Matt Fitzpatrick as the man to beat on Sunday's last round of the DS Automobiles Italian Open.
