On Sunday, the W. Cup 2022 finally commences with their opening game between host nation Qatar and Ecuador.

Kick-off is set 4:00PM GMT at the Al Bayt Stadium in Al Kohr, Qatar.

Reigning Asian Cup champion Qatar will open-up the W. Cup 2022 in front of their fans.

The W. Cup 2022 is finally back after 1,586 days of waiting.

The Qatar national team was given ample time to prepare as their national football league were suspended since September for them to enter a training camp.

Qatar is pressured to uphold the distinction of no W. Cup host has ever lost in their opening match.

Ecuador is no stranger this competition and they also prepared well.

They held powerhouse Argentina to a 1-1 draw last March and have kept six consecutive clean sheets against different opposition.

They also have a deadly threat at attacking set pieces which Qatar must contend for 90 minutes.
